CBW Youth Committee
The purpose of the Concerned Black
Women of Calvert County, Inc. (CBW), Youth Mentorship Program, is to
serve as role models to young people by assisting them in making
effective life choices and in reaching their full potential. CBW
believes that by serving as role models for youth and providing
support and guidance, they will learn and build relationships with
knowledgeable African American women on how to make the right
decisions and choices in life.

CBW 2009 Scholarship Recipients
Concerned Black Women of Calvert County is proud to announce that Marissa Miller
was awarded the Professor Charles J. Ogletree, Jr. Scholarship for 2009, the scholarship was for $2,500.
CBW also awarded four ($500) scholarships to 2009 graduating African American High
School Seniors attending Institutions of Higher Learning. The
scholarships are for training and education beyond the high school
level.

1. Allyson Shaffier to attend Howard University in a Political Science program.
2. Chamaine Jones to attend Bowie State University to study nursing.
3. Danielle Newman-attending Virginia Commonwealth University for a Pre-med program.
4. Nalynn Holland-attending Salisbury University to study nursing.
